Begin your UW-Green Bay teaching journey with new instructor orientation!

As a part of the onboarding process, new instructors are invited to attend one of two separate CATL-led orientation events based on whether they are on a full-time or part-time contract. These orientations provide an overview of the core information and skills you will need as an instructor at UW-Green Bay and are distinct from the "Phoenix Orientation" event for all new employees. Topics covered during new instructor orientation may include creating a syllabus, designing assessments, engaging students, and using Canvas for all teaching modalities.

If you have any questions about instructor orientation, please contact CATL.

Full-Time Instructor Orientation

New full-time instructors are invited to a hybrid CATL-led orientation event in August before the start of the fall semester. In-person attendance is recommended, but instructors also have the option to attend virtually. Full-time instructors also meet with CATL as a cohort throughout the academic year to check in, cover additional topics that new instructors should know, and address questions that may arise during your first year at UW-Green Bay.

Part-Time Instructor Orientation

New part-time instructors are invited to a fully virtual CATL-led orientation session before the start of their first semester. Part-time instructor orientation occurs twice a year: in August before beginning of the fall semester and in January before the spring semester. These orientations are typically held in the evening on a weekday to accommodate instructors who work other jobs during the day.
